We enjoy the fall season here in Green Bay–the crisp, clean air, the beautiful colors, the autumn smells. What a great time of year! We are in awe at the beauty of this season and can’t help but to look at each day as a gift from our Father above.
Genesis teaches that the seasons were all part of God’s divine plan. “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years” (Genesis 1:14).
Non-believing scientists will tell you that that change in the temperature and colors are solely due to the rotation of the earth around the sun, and that it’s the lack of chlorophyll in the leaves that make them change. However, as Christians know that while those scientific explanations are true, that isn’t the whole story. We know that God is the One “Who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is therein” (Psalm 146:6).
We know it is God who is responsible for the seasons, yes, even the nasty winter. It is His way of reminding us that He is ever present and ever in control. So, as we wrap up our Revival Services this week, please invite your friends and loved ones to join us at Bay City Baptist Church tonight at 6:30 p.m., or for the Men’s Only Steak Out tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Together we can share the beauty of His promise of salvation with others.
