Bay City Baptist Church’s Awana program is teaming up with Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child again this Christmas season to bring the joy of Christmas and the love of God to children in need.

Since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has collected and delivered more than 113 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in over 150 countries through Operation Christmas Child. A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal.

More than 2.8 million children have participated in The Greatest Journey, the 12-lesson discipleship program created by Samaritan’s Purse for children who receive Operation Christmas Child gift boxes. The Greatest Journey is one of the largest discipleship programs in the world, implemented through a global church network to help children know and follow Jesus Christ.

And the best part is you can help! There is a donation box in each of the church foyers where you can donate items such as small dolls, toys stuffed animals, yo-yos, jump ropes, pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons, markers, coloring books, paper, toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, washcloths, t-shirts, socks, sunglasses, hair clips, jewelry, watches, sandals, etc.

What can one small church in Green Bay accomplish? We can play a part in changing children’s lives all over the world, in Jesus’ Name, through the power of a simple gift.
