City of Green Bay Continues in a Deep Freeze but Churches Carry On

It's a cold day at this Green Bay church.
Here’s a picture of the front of the building this afternoon (January 9, 2015). The wind chill is at about -20. It’s cold outside, but inside the building and inside our hearts the temperature is always warm.

We’ve had a cold week here in the city of Green Bay, but that hasn’t stopped church activities from continuing as usual here. In fact, most churches in Green Bay haven’t cancelled a thing.

Here’s the NBC 26 weather forecast for today: “Today is shaping up to be a nasty winter day. Temperatures are falling below zero and with the wind it’ll feel more like -20 to -30 the entire day. The wind will also continue to cause blowing and drifting of snow, especially in the countryside. A frigid cold night is on tap tonight. Low temperatures will likely fall into the teens below zero, with -20 not out of question in the Northwoods. The wind chill should hover around -30.

“We start to warm up a bit this weekend, but it will not be a heatwave by any means. After a below zero morning, the temperatures should climb near 10 by late Saturday afternoon. Sunday’s high should be around 20. There is a slight chance for snow showers early Sunday, but they shouldn’t be much of an issue if you’re traveling to the game.”
